COMPLETE RESULTS

The Princeton women's swimming and diving team put an exclamation point at the end of the 2012 portion of its schedule. Two Sunday wins and a deep effort from the entire roster led the Tigers to a dominant victory at the Brown Invitational.

Princeton won the three-day event with 1,024 points, while Yale (802) finished second. Brown (618) held off Dartmouth (538) for third.

The weekend also serves as the dual meets for Princeton against both Brown and Dartmouth, and the Tigers won both to get out to a 4-0 start for the season. The Tigers topped Dartmouth 208-92, and they topped Brown 198-101.

"What a great mid-season effort from our team," said head coach Susan Teeter. "[Assistant coach] Suzanne Yee and I are both pleased with the fight and energy we had."

Princeton placed three in the top seven in the mile, including a third-place finish for junior Maureen McCotter (16:51.36). Sophomore Damaris Iriondo placed sixth in 16:58.06, while freshman India Boland added a seventh-place time of 17:04.35.

A pair of freshmen battled for the 200 back, and Sada Stewart edged out classmate Shirley Wang for the victory. Stewart finished in 1:56.73, while Wang placed second in 1:58.33. Stewart now holds the second-fastest 200 back time at Princeton, while Wang moved to third on the list. Sophomore Courtney Ciardiello also reached the 'A' final, and she placed eighth in a time of 2:05.01.

In a potential showdown for the Ivy League title, which will be held Feb. 28-Mar. 2 at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool, Tiger junior Lisa Boyce took on Yale senior Alex Forrester in the 100 free final. Forrester held off the reigning Ivy champion in 49.12, while Boyce took second in 49.36. Freshman Mallory Remick gave Princeton two in the top five with her fifth-place time of 51.25.

Senior Sarah Furgatch placed third in the 200 breast in 2:17.17, while freshman Sarah Liang took eighth in 2:22.51. Emily Yu added a win in the 'B' final in 2:21.35. Princeton also added three in the top five in the 200 fly, including a second-place finish for Nguyen in 1:59.35. That swim put Nguyen into third on the all-time Princeton Top 10. Larson moved to fifth with her third-place time of 2:02.32, while senior Carter Stephens took fifth in the event in 2:02.74.

Princeton finished the event in style, winning the 400 free relay in 3:20.54. The quartet of Boyce, Remick, Stewart and Larson punctuated an ideal Tiger weekend in style.

The Tigers will return to the water early in 2013; they will host Villanova Jan. 4 at 3 pm.
