PRINCETON, N.J. (10/15/12) - The Princeton men's soccer team travels to Adelphi for a midweek game on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
Princeton owns a 9-2-1 edge in the all-time series that began in 1995. The Tigers won a 3-0 game in the last meeting in 2010. The last time Princeton played at Adelphi in 2008, the Panthers won a 2-1 game in overtime on a penalty kick.
The Tigers are 5-4-2 on the season, with the last four games going into overtime. Princeton is 5-1-1 when playing unranked teams, its lone loss to Rutgers over a month ago. Leading the team offensively is freshman Thomas Sanner. He has 11 points on three goals and five assists. Older brother Matt Sanner is on his heels with eight points off of three goals and two assists. Sophomore Cameron Porter has seven points on two goals and three helpers. Five others have two or more points. In goal, junior Seth MacMillan boasts a 0.82 GAA and a .727 save percentage, making 23 saves on 30 shots.
Adelphi is 1-11 overall with its lone win in overtime against UMass. The Panthers have been shut out six times and have allowed 2.67 goals per game. Nicholas Costa and Omar Edwards are tied atop the scoring column with two goals and one assist apiece. Chris Joseph and James Diana add two goals each, while Steve Rivera is the team assist leader with three. Ahmad Salamah has played every minute in goal and has a 2.62 GAA and a .640 save percentage, allowing 32 goals on 89 shots.
