Paris Saint-Germain Selects Roberts Stadium as Training Site
PRINCETON, N.J. (7/27/12) - The Paris Saint-Germain Football Club spent a week training on Princeton's Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium in July. They are the third professional team to training on Princeton's field, joining the US Men's World Cup Team (May 2010) and the US Women's Olympic Team (May 2012).
Paris Saint-Germain is a professional team based in Paris, France. It competes in Ligue 1, the highest professional league in France. It is a perennial contender for the title, and with some big offseason purchases this year they expect to make a run for the Ligue and the Champions League and expect to do well in the Ligue and the UEFA Champions League.
In club history, PSG has won two league titles, eight French Cups, three League Cups, two Trophées des Champions and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1996.
PSG is the second best-supported soccer club in France. Paris Saint-Germain's average home gate for the 2011-12 season was 42,892, the highest in Ligue 1.
The squad is currently on a US Tour and played Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Yankee Stadium. The team will face D.C. United at RFK Stadium on July 28.
