Hoppenot Drafted by Philadelphia Union

PRINCETON, N.J. (1/17/12) - Antoine Hoppenot of the Princeton men's soccer team have been drafted in the Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft that was held on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Hoppenot as selected by the Philadelphia Union in the third round as the 51st pick overall.

Hoppenot was a semifinalist for the 2010 Hermann Trophy and was named the 2010 Ivy League Player of the Year. He has been a first-team All-Ivy League selection three times and was a second-team pick as a freshman. He was named NSCAA all-region three times and earned All-America honors by the organization, as well as by College Soccer News. Hoppenot was a candidate for Soccer News Net Player of the Year. Hoppenot capped his career with 26 goals and 15 assists for 67 points in 69 games played. He helped to lead Princeton to an undefeated Ivy League season in 2010 and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010.
