Men's Soccer Hosts FGCU in ESPNU Televised Game This Sunday

PRINCETON, N.J. (9/28/13) - The Tigers look to keep momentum going as the men's soccer team hosts Florida Gulf Coast University live on ESPU on Sunday, Sept. 29. Kick off is at 4:05 p.m.

Fans attending the game at Roberts Stadium will receive a free Princeton Tiger soccer bobblehead, courtesty of Princeton Dining Services. (while supplies last).

Princeton is coming off of a 4-2 win over FIU on Friday night. (Watch the highlights and GoPro footage) The Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead with junior Cameron Porter having a hand in each Princeton goal, as he had a six-point night. The 2012 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Thomas Sanner scored twice, and 10 players came off the bench for playing time. Sanner now leads the team in scoring with four tallies and one assist for nine points while Porter has three goals and two assists for eight points. Sophomore Nico Hurtado is next on the list with five points coming on two goals one assist. Freshman Bryan Windsor, sophomore Brendan McSherry and senior Chris Benedict have two points apiece. Senior Seth MacMillan has played every minute in goal. He has a 2.17 goals against average and a .552 save percentage making 16 stops on 29 shots.

FGCU earned its first win of the season at Penn on Friday night, taking a 3-2 overtime game. The game winner came from leading scorer Felipe DeSousa. DeSousa has scored five of his team's 13 goals. Santiaga Echeverri has seven points on three goals and one assist, while Henry Penagos has scored twice. Isaiah Madrid and Xavier Silva both have a goal and an assist each. The Eagles utilize a two-goalie system with Nathan Ingham starting four of the six games. He has a 3.24 GAA and a .560 save percentage stopping 14 of 25 shots. Danny George started against Penn and has a 2.34 GAA and a .615 making 16 saves on 26 shots. The Eagles are 1-5-1 in their eighth season as a varsity program. Four of those losses have been by one goal. FGCU went 11-5-3 in 2012 and made the NCAA Tournament after winning its third straight Atlantic Sun championship. The Eagles have allowed 12 of 21 goals in the first 45 minutes
