The Princeton men's track & field team completed a busy day, competing at three different meets.

The Tigers began the day with a win by senior Damon McLean in the triple jump championship at the Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York. McLean leapt to 15.71 (51-6.50) to beat out the other 11 competitors.

In Boston the Tigers top distance and middle distance runners had an excellent day, running a sub-4-minute-mile, a sub-8-minute-3k and a near sub-14-minute-5k at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University.

Senior Michael Williams joined the sub-four-minute-mile club with a 3:59.63. He had the third-best collegiate time in a mile race that featured more than 300 runners. Williams' PR moves him into the top-10 in the country, ninth.

Senior Chris Bendtsen was sixth and junior Sam Pons 11th in the 3,000 as each ran a PR. Bendtsen ran an impressive 7:57.44 while Pons ran an 8:07.99.

Senior Tyler Udland was second in the 5k with a PR of 14:01.93. His time is the fourth best time in the nation.

Beginning the day was junior Bradley Paternostro in the 800. Paternostro clocked a 1:51.39, the sixth best collegiate time and was 17th overall out of 235 runners. Sophomore Jamie Fehrnstrom was 93rd at 1:57.47.

Sophomore Luke Brahm was third in the 1,000 with a time of 2:23.78 and freshman William Paulson wasn’t far behind at 2:26.11 for eighth place.

Meanwhile the rest of the Princeton men’s track & field team was competing at Penn State’s Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup. The Tigers earned 35 team points to finish seventh.

Sophomore Adam Bragg earned a win in the pole vault in his first competition as a Tiger this season. Bragg cleared 5.11 (16-9.25) for a new personal best. Freshman Ben Gaylord earned two points, finishing sixth, as he made it over 4.66 (15-3.50).

In the 400, freshman Ray Mennin finished in fourth place. He ran the lap in 49.17. He later helped the 4x400 relay place fourth. Along with sophomore Jabari Johnson, senior Daniel McCord and sophomore Jordan Myers the relay clocked a 3:16.74.

Sophomores Sam Berger and Michael Sublette went 5-6 in the 3k with times  of 8:31.93 and 8:32.35. Junior Matt Mazzaccaro also earned a point towards the team total with an eighth-place finish of 8:35.16.

In the shot put, junior Scott Rushton was fifth with a throw of 16.74 (54-11.25) to give his team four more points.
