Princeton senior Kelly Shon has been recognized as one of Golf World's Top 50 Players to Watch, the news outlet announced Thursday, Aug. 29.
Shon, who won her first Ivy League title last year while gaining a berth in the NCAA East Regional for the third time in as many years at Princeton, was the only Ivy Leaguer on the list and was cited for her all-time best finish for an Ivy golfer at the NCAA Championships last spring where she tied for 37th overall.
In making the NCAA finals, for which she qualified after finishing second at the East Regional, Shon became only the second Ivy Leaguer to play in the NCAA Championships, alongside Princeton's Mary Moan '97. This spring, Shon will aim to become the first Princetonian to play in four NCAA Regionals.
