Kelly Shon completed a historic 2013 spring season Friday with a birdie on the last of 72 holes at the NCAA Championships.

Shon finished tied for 37th place at +10 for the tournament, the highest finish of any Ivy Leaguer in event history. A fellow Long Islander, Annie Park of USC, won the individual title at -10, six shots ahead of Duke's Lindy Duncan at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

On her final 18, Shon had four bogeys and two birdies, finishing the round at +2 for her second-best round of the tournament after matching par Wednesday.

Shon was also named as of 10 players on the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-East Region team, one of three regions of the country in which 10 to 12 players each were honored.

Over the past month, Shon, the Ivy League Player of the Year, became Princeton's first player to win the Ivy League individual championship since 2009, the third Princeton player to compete in three NCAA Regionals, and the second Princeton player and Ivy Leaguer to play in the NCAA finals, alongside Mary Moan '97 in 1997. Shon's finish was just ahead of Moan's, who finished tied for 40th at +15 in the NCAAs 16 years ago at Ohio State.
