Both Princeton golf teams will play in tournaments this weekend, with the women heading to UNC Wilmington and the men going to Yale.
Men: 36 holes at The Course at Yale, New Haven, Conn., Saturday, 8:30 a.m.
Women: 54 holes at River Landing Golf Club, Wallace, N.C., Saturday and Sunday, 8:45 a.m.
The women's team has competed in two events so far this spring, finishing second at the Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. before winning a dual match with Penn last weekend outside Philadelphia.
The UNCW Seahawk Classic will take place at the par-72, 6,106-yard River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, N.C. and will feature 54 holes over two days. The Tigers and their foes will get underway in a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Saturday (36 holes) and Sunday (18). Princeton will tee it up with Bucknell, Delaware, Elon, Georgia State, Longwood, Middle Tennessee State, Morehead State, Navy, Old Dominion, Richmond, South Alabama, UNC Greensboro and host UNCW.
The men will have their first event of the spring at the Yale Spring Opener before hosting the Princeton Invitational next weekend. The Yale tournament will feature 36 holes over one day of play Saturday at The Course at Yale. Princeton and Yale will be two of seven Ivy teams in the event along with Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn, with Colgate, Lamar, Franklin & Marshall, Hartford, Temple and Villanova completing the field.
Princeton's men have competed in recent seasons in Yale-hosted tournaments in the fall of 2007 and the fall of 2011, finishing second in a 14-team field last season.
