UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (11/9/12) - The Princeton women's cross country team captured fourth at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, Nov. 9 on the campus of Penn State. Senior Greta Feldman led the Tigers with an eighth-place finish of 20:37.
The Tigers finished fourth with 101 points. Penn State won the race with 61 points, followed by Georgetown with 63 and Villanova with 96. Behind Princeton in fifth and sixth places were West Virginia with 111 and La Salle with 113.
Sophomore Emily de La Bruyere was 12th at 20:50 and sophomore Jackie Nicholas clocked in at 21:09 to take 17th. Junior Marisa Cummings and senior Alexis Mikaelian finished 10 seconds apart, at 21:36 and 21:46 as the final two scorers. Sophomore Erika Fluehr and senior Mel Newbery finished under 23 minutes to place in the top 70.
Feldman, de La Bruyere and Nicholas earned All-Region honors for finishing in the top 25.
Princeton will await the NCAA committee's at-large selections for the NCAA Championships, that will include 13 at-large teams and the top four at each Regional not on an advancing team.
