After the first round of play at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, Princeton freshman Kelly Shon is in the top 10 with a 1-under round Monday.
Florida's Evan Jensen leads the talented field at the University of Texas Golf Club at 4-under, while Kent State's Mercedes Germino is one shot back at 3-under. Four more players are at 2-under, while Shon is in a group of five tied for seventh, standing three shots back of Jensen.
Shon carded three birdies, including one on the par-3 second hole, while getting an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. She bogeyed four holes on the day.
Joyce Kim (+7), Wonji Choi (+10), Anna Jang (+11) and Tiffany Dong (+14) round out Princeton's five, while Mary Funk (+13) is playing as an individual.
Florida leads the 15-team field at 3-under, three shots in front of host Texas. Princeton is 15th at +27.
