The fall season will conclude for one team and continue for the other this weekend in New England for both Princeton golf teams as the men's team heads to the Classic at Shelter Harbor in Rhode Island and the women compete in the Harvard Invitational outside Boston.
All seven Ivy League women's programs will be at Boston Golf Club in Hingham, Mass., for the Harvard-hosted tournament Saturday and Sunday. It will be the third of four fall tournaments for Princeton's women, who will wrap their fall schedule Nov. 1-2 in Texas.
It is the second straight year that the entirely-Ivy fall tournament has been put on by Harvard, with last year's event taking place at The International in Bolton, Mass. The final standings at that tournament were not far off from last spring's Ivy League Championship, as Yale won both ahead of Harvard. Penn and Princeton traded third and fourth place between the two tournaments, while Brown, Dartmouth and Columbia were the final three in different order.
The men's tournament will take place at Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown, R.I. Seven of the eight Ivy League programs, with the exception of Harvard, are competing in the event, along with Boston College, Bryant, Central Connecticut, Connecticut, Fordham, Hartford, Holy Cross and host Rhode Island for a 15-team field.
The Tigers played in the Northeast Invitational on the same course and same weekend a year ago, placing eighth in a 16-team field.
