Women’s Water Polo Makes Program History Earning No. 7 Ranking
Despite not having opened its season, the Princeton women’s water polo team has made program history by earning a No. 7 ranking in the week two Varsity Top 20 poll, it was announced Wednesday by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA).
The Tigers matched their previous program high of No. 8 in both the preseason and week one polls and extend their wave of making Princeton history in this week’s edition with 62 points for seventh nationally.
Princeton’s ranking marks the highest placement by a team on the East Coast program since Michigan was No. 6 in 2011. The Tigers are the only East Coast representative ranked in the top-10 and remain tabbed No. 1 in the CWPA conference top-10 poll for the third straight week with 99 points.
The Tigers will officially kick things off with the Princeton Invitational from Feb. 8-9 with a four-game homestand.
