The No. 18 Princeton women's water polo team employed a three-goal fourth quarter to edge past Harvard, 9-8, in the opening game of the Harvard Invitational. In game two, a last second goal by No. 12 San Jose State handed the Tigers their first loss of the year, 13-12. Princeton is now 14-1 overall, 2-0 Southern Division.

The Crimson jumped out early on the Tigers, 6-3, over the first two quarters of play, but Princeton proved to resilient in the third and fourth quarters. Over the final two quarters of action, Princeton found an offensive surge, rallying back with a 6-2 run to earn the victory.

Goalie Kristen Ward tallied 12 saves on 20 shots on goal against Harvard, including a seven-save fourth quarter to preserve the Princeton victory. She also had a steal in the game.

Katie Rigler led the Tigers with three goals, including a pair in the fourth quarter. She also posted a pair of steals and drew an ejection. Princeton made 16 steals in the contest, with Camille Hooks and Brittany Zwirner leading the way with four and three, respectively.

After pushing past Harvard, the Tigers dropped a heartbreaker in the fourth quarter to San Jose State, the first nationally ranked opponent faced this season. After an evenly matched game, where every goal was matched by both sides, San Jose State found the back of the net with six seconds to go in the fourth quarter to edge Princeton 13-12.

Versus SJSU, Rigler led the squad with four goals, while Taylor Dunstan and Molly McBee added a pair apiece. Defensively, Ward brought her save total to 25 on the day with 13 against the Spartans.
