Princeton women's water polo freshman Camille Hooks has been named the CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday. Hooks, who is coming off a standout defensive performance this past week, is the second consecutive Tiger to receive the honor.
Hooks strong defensive game helped the No. 18 Tigers extend their winning streak to 13, as Princeton improved to 13-0 overall, 1-0 Southern. Over the weekend slate of five games, Hooks tallied 15 steals, five assists, two ejections, two blocks, a goal and won her lone sprint. Versus Wagner on Feb. 26, she tallied a career-best five steals.
This season, the Tiger utility has played in all 13 games, tallying 24 steals, seven ejections, eight goals, seven assists, five blocks and won a sprint.
Hooks and the Tigers next head to Cambridge, Mass. to face Brown, Harvard, Mercyhurst and San Jose State from Mar. 3-4.
