Women's Water Polo Falls to #10 Long Beach State

LOS ANGELES (3/18/11) - The 18th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team fell to 10th-ranked Long Beach State 7-5 in its first game at the LMU Invitational on Friday morning. Molly McBee scored three goals and added an assist in the loss.

Princeton fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter and trailed by as many as four on two occasions, once at the end of the first half and again midway through the final frame. Princeton closed the gap to two goals at 5-3 late in the third quarter and again at 7-5 with 18 seconds left in the game.

Brittany Zwirner and Saranna Soroka added goals in the loss and Lauren Brunner added two assists. Kristen Ward made seven saves in the game.

Princeton is now 9-6 overall with the loss. Princeton is back in the water later today against Cal State San Bernardino.
