Coming off her record-breaking weekend, Princeton women’s water polo sophomore Ashleigh Johnson picked up CWPA Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week honors. The goalie earns her fifth Defensive Player of the Week accolade and seventh weekly honor of her career.

For the second straight year Johnson set the single-game saves record with 20 in the Tigers’ season opener versus Wagner in a 9-4 win on Feb. 8 to kick off the Princeton Invitational. She finished off the day with an 18-save performance in the Tigers’ 11-4 victory over Iona.

Following her compete game victories, Johnson posted six saves over two quarters of work versus VMI to close out the weekend undefeated at 3-0 with 44 saves and two steals.

Johnson and the Tigers head next to the Bucknell Invitational from Feb. 15-16 in Lewisburg, Pa.
