Princeton women’s water polo head coach Luis Nicolao announced rising seniors Molly McBee and Katie Rigler will serve as team captains for the 2014 season.
“Molly and Katie have been great contributors throughout their careers and I am excited for them to serve as captains during the upcoming year. I know we are all excited for next season and they will do a great job leading the team,” said Nicolao.
The duo has been an integral part in guiding the Tigers to consecutive CWPA Eastern Championships and berths into the NCAA Championship. In 2013, the squad went 28-6, 5-0 Southern Division en route to a program-best fifth place finish at NCAAs.
McBee battled back from injury last year, tallying 33 steals, 30 goals, 15 assists and 10 blocks in 26 games.
Rigler served as the team’s offensive leader with 66 goals, while adding 26 steals, 15 assists and eight blocks over 33 games. She was named Eastern MVP and to the all-tournament first team, Southern Player of the Year and a first team selection and to the NCAA All-Tournament Second Team.
