The Tiger Award is presented annually to the individual who contributed most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the Princeton women's water polo team. The award was first presented in 2000 and recent winners have included Natalie Kim (2008), Liz Dilday (2009), Helen Meigs (2010), Lauren Brunner (2011) and Audrey Zak (2012).

Martinez’s role on the team developed greatly over her four-year career to be a consistent contributor off the bench. Over her career, she played in 92 games, amassing 40 steals, 18 goals, 14 assists and eight blocks.
