Rigler and Ward Earn ACWPC All-America Honors
Princeton women's water polo sophomore utility Katie Rigler and senior goalie Kristen Ward earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Honorable Mention honors, it was announced Monday.
Rigler is coming off a dominant 2012 campaign where she was named CWPA Southern Division Player of the Year and a first team selection, MVP of the Eastern Championship and earned Princeton's first-ever NCAA Championship All-Tournament honor. She amassed 76 goals over 35 games played, in addition to tallying 37 steals and 13 assists. The honorable mention accolade is the second of Rigler's career.
Co-captain Ward capped off her four-year starting career by earning All-CWPA South and All-Eastern Championship Second Team honors. In 26 starts in the cage, Ward tallied 274 saves, a .565 saves percentage, 16 assists and nine steals en route to a 23-6 record.
