McLean 2nd in Championship Triple as Penn Relays Concludes

PHILADELPHIA (4/26/14) - Senior Damon McLean was the runner-up in the championship triple jump as the Princeton men's track & field team concluded competition at the 120th Penn Relays on Saturday.
McLean jumped to 16.04 (52-7.5) on his third attempt in the championship event. He just missed out on the title to Penn State' Steve Waithe who reached 16.22 (53-2.75). McLean's other attempts were 16.03, 15.70, 15.67 and 15.96.
Junior Nana Owusu-Nyantekyi was ninth in the same event. He leapt to 14.91 (48-11) on his third and final jump.
Junior Adam Bragg placed seventh in the championship pole vault. He cleraed 4.90 (16-0.75) on his first attempt but oculdn't clear the next height of 5.05.
The 4x400 relay claimed seventh place in the IC4A race. Junior Daniel McCord, freshman Bryant Switzer, freshman Ray Mennin and senior Tom Hopkins put up a time of 3:13.15.
In the final event of the day, the men's 4x800 was 11th in the Championship of America race. Freshman William Paulson set off the race with a 1:53.16 before sophomore Luke Brahm's 1:56.67. Senior Michael Williams followed up with a 1:54.52 before junior Bradley Paternostro held up a 1:52.14 in the anchor leg.
