Men's Track & Field Wins Four Events on Final Day of Elite Meet
PRINCETON, N.J. (5/3/14) – The Princeton men’s track & field team won four events on the final day of the Elite Meet at Weaver Stadium on Saturday, May 3.
Junior Nana Owusu-Nytantekyi had his best outing of the season in the triple. He won the event with a jump of 15.31 (50-2.75).
Junior Adam Bragg wasn’t far off of his PR in the pole vault. He cleared 5.15 (16-10.75) to win the event, just the second time he has competed this outdoor season.
The final win in the field events came from senior Omar Jarrett in the high jump. Jarrett cleared 2.04 (6-8.25) on his third attempt.
The 4x100 relay of sophomore Jake Scinto, sophomore John Hill, junior Daniel McCord, senior Tom Hopkins also captured a victory. The relay clocked a 41.23 for the win.
Hill went on to take fourth in the 100 at 10.67 and Hopkins was fourth int eh 200 at 21.45.
Sophomore Greg Caldwell was the runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles with a 14.42. Junior Rob Mohr was fourth at 15.08. In the 400 hurdles, Greg Leeper was fourth with a PR of 53.84.
The Tigers went 3-4 in the discus. Freshman Jared Bell was third at 50.38 (165-03) while freshman Chris Cook was fourth with a throw of 49.95 (163-10).
Junior Stephen Soerens was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.74 (22-1.50) on his third jump.
Up next for the Tigers is the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. The Heps will take place at Yale next weekend, May 10 & 11.
