Tobias Kim, 19, a member of the Princeton University Class of 2017, died Friday in Argentina. Kim was not enrolled in the University at the time of his death, which was reportedly accidental.

Kim was a member of the swimming and diving teams. He was a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas.

“Toby was a terrific young man with a great energy about him,” said head coach Rob Orr. "He would come to practice every day with a contagious smile on his face and work as hard as he possibly could. In just the few months we were lucky to have him with us. He made a positive lasting impression on us all which will remain with us forever.”

The University has extended its condolences to his family and friends. A gathering was held on campus in Kim's memory Sunday evening.

Students who would like to speak with counselors are encouraged to call (609) 258-3285 to reach a counselor. After hours and on weekends, a counselor is available on call to respond to urgent needs and can be reached by calling (609) 258-3139.
