Dan Davies and Josh Yablon represented the Princeton men's tennis team as the Tigers began play at the USTA/ITA Regional at Yale Thursday.
The two players entered a draw of 48 competing for one of 12 bids into the main draw. Davies defeated Boston College's Matt Wagner in three sets, but Davies fell one win short of the main draw in a three-set loss to Stony Brook's Alexandre Felisa. Yablon was within a tiebreak of extending his first match to a third set, but Bryant's Max Vogt moved on.
The Tigers will begin main-draw play Friday with Zack McCourt, Jonathan Carcione, Alex Day and Tom Colautti playing singles, and Davies and McCourt, Augie Bloom and Carcione, and Ben Quazzo and Colautti playing doubles.
