In their final multi-team event before the Ivy League Championship, the Princeton women's golf team placed fourth at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Classic Sunday afternoon.
Old Dominion, Georgia State, UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington were the top four in a field that included few teams located north of the Potomac. Princeton placed atop that short list, which included Delaware (12th), Bucknell (13th) and Navy (14th) in the 14-team field.
Kelly Shon led Princeton by finishing at +7, good for a fourth-place tie on the individual leaderboard. UNCG's Fanny Cnops was the individual champ at +2, leading ODU's Elizabeth Haycock by two shots and UNCW's Lori Beth Adams by four shots with Shon and UNCG's Courtney Taylor five shots back.
Princeton will meet Rutgers in a dual match Friday at Rutgers' home course in Piscataway before taking part in the Ivy League Championship the last weekend of April.
