Two-time All-America Kent DeMond will compete in the inaugural High Diving competition this year during the 2013 FINA Aquatics World Championships, held July 28-31 in Barcelona.

DeMond, the 2002 Ivy League champion in the 3-meter competition, earned NCAA All-America honors during both the 2005 (platform) and 2006 (platform, 3-meter) Championship events. His post-Princeton career has included several impressive performances in international cliff diving competitions, including a victory in the 2011 International Cliff Diving Championships in Acapulco.

This will be the debut for High Diving at the FINA Aquatics World Championships, as described here by swimswam.com. Presently, there are 14 male divers entered, including three Americans.
