Davies Wins Flight Title in Virginia

Princeton men's tennis senior Dan Davies won his flight title at the Virginia Fall Classic Sunday as the three-day event came to a close.

Davies defeated the Gold draw's top-seeded player, Ted Nilsson of Coastal Carolina, 6-2, 6-4 to claim the title. Davies was one of four Tigers playing singles matches Sunday as Zack McCourt, Ben Quazzo and Josh Yablon played consolation matches.

Princeton will have next weekend away from competition before playing in the USTA/ITA Regional in New Haven, Conn., beginning Oct. 17.

Orange Draw, consolation: Max Kan (Wake Forest) def. Zack McCourt (P), 7-5, 6-4
White Draw, consolation: Jason Luu (Cornell) def. Ben Quazzo (P), 6-1, 6-1
Gold Draw, final: Dan Davies (P) def. Ted Nilsson (Coastal Carolina), 6-2, 6-4
Green Draw, consolation: Dylan Brown (Cornell) def. Josh Yablon (P), 7-6, 6-1
