Game 6: Princeton vs. William & Mary

Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013
Roberts Stadium • Princeton, N.J.

Box Score

William & Mary's Nicole Baxter scored, unassisted.

81:54: Princeton's Gabrielle Ragazzo scored, unassisted.

Princeton outshot William & Mary 24-7, the most shots the Tigers had put on an opponent since shooting 24 times at Saint Peter's on Sept. 25, 2012. Lauren Lazo and Tyler Lussi co-led Princeton with five shots apiece.

Bonus Stat of the Game: Princeton had 11 corner kicks to three for the Tribe.

After William & Mary had withstood wave after wave from the Tigers while holding on to the lead, Gabrielle Ragazzo recovered a loose ball in the top corner of the box at the goalkeeper's left and powered it home for the 1-1 tie.

Bonus Play of the Game: Princeton fell into the 1-0 deficit thanks to a foul inside the penalty arc. The Tribe's Nicole Baxter converted on what was a set piece that was as close to a penalty kick as they come without being an actual PK, finding space behind Princeton keeper Darcy Hargadon.

• It was the first tie in the series with William & Mary, which had its first installment in 1991. The Tribe lead the series 5-1-1 with Princeton's win coming in 2001, the last time the Tribe were in Princeton.

• Gabrielle Ragazzo's goal was the second of the junior's career and first since Oct. 12, 2011 against Lehigh.

• Princeton is undefeated in five straight overtime games, going 2-0-3. Princeton's last OT loss was at Seton Hall in double OT early in the 2011 season.

• Roberts Stadium hasn't seen a golden goal in either direction for the Tiger women since Oct. 31, 2009, when Princeton beat Cornell 2-1. The last four games to reach overtime at Roberts have all gone the distance.

• William & Mary has gone to overtime in six of its eight games this season. Princeton has gone to overtime now twice this season, the first coming in a scoreless tie at Seton Hall on Sept. 13

Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Tigers will visit Fordham (2-4-2) for the first-ever meeting between the teams. The Rams are 2-1-1 in their last four games after an 0-3-1 start.
