Sophomore Tony Ensbury made a successful debut with the U.S. Junior National Team Monday night, as he led the American squad with six digs in a 3-0 victory over Honduras at the 2012 NORCECA Men’s Junior (U-21) Continental Championship.
Ensbury, who started at libero for Princeton during his freshman season in 2012, earned the starting libero spot for Team USA, which earned a 25-12, 25-12, 25-16 sweep over Honduras. He had 16 serve receptions to along with his six digs, both of which were team bests for the Americans.
The USA, as a member of Pool A, will play St. Vincent (Tuesday) and Mexico (Wednesday), and the quarterfinals will begin Aug. 30.

Ensbury's selection to the US Junior National Team capped a highly successful summer for the Tiger men's volleyball team. Ensbury and sophomore Will Siroky were part of a winning team at the USA Volleyball Open National Championships, while both Michael Dye and Pat Schwagler also competed at the event.
Later, reigning EIVA Newcomer of the Year Cody Kessel was part of Team Bring It USA/Hawai'i, which competed at the 24th annual Asian Pacific Cup. Princeton head coach Sam Shweisky served as an assistant coach for the team.
