The Princeton women's lightweight crew will be making three trips to Cooper River this season, and the stakes will get progressively higher each time. The first trip comes Saturday, when the Tigers will compete for the Knecht Cup.
Princeton, which has lost to No. 1 Stanford and No. 3 Bucknell this season, will look for its first win out East when it competes at the home of both the EAWRC and IRA Championships. Princeton used to be a fixture at the Knecht Cup, held on Cooper River in Cherry Hill.
The Tigers competed there every year from 2002 and 2006, and they won three straight competitions in the middle. The most exciting win came in 2005, when Princeton topped Wisconsin by 1.4 seconds.
Head coach Paul Rassam has been pointing towards a strong improvement throughout the season, and this is another chance to see progress after a tough loss last weekend to an improved Bucknell team.
