Princeton's three most decorated men's volleyball players picked up yet another honor Friday, as Michael Dye, Cody Kessel and Pat Schwagler were each named to the 2013 All-EIVA Teams.

Both Kessel and Schwagler, former EIVA Newcomers of the Year, were named to the 2013 All-EIVA First Team. Dye, the lone senior starter for a Princeton team that will battle for a top-three spot in the playoffs this weekend, was named to the Second Team.

This is Kessel's second straight year on the EIVA First Team. Despite missing three weeks of the season to injury, the 2012 EIVA Newcomer of the Year is averaging 3.2 points and 2.7 kills per set this season. He has been at his best since returning from injury; he is averaging 13 kills in his last three matches and hit better than .400 in three of his last five.

Cody Kessel worked diligently to make a very quick recovery from his mid-season injury and come back in top form," head coach Sam Shweisky said. "Since his return to action, Cody has been hitting at a higher clip than before his injury. That is an amazing testament to his drive and determination to be the best he can be at all times. The example he set for our team has helped drive us this season.”

Schwagler, the 2010 EIVA Newcomer of the Year, leads the EIVA in both kills/set and points/set this season. He has averaged 15.4 kills in matches against the three teams (Penn State, George Mason and Harvard) involved in the EIVA postseason, and he is second on the team with 1.3 digs per set.

"I am very happy for Pat to have been recognized as an ALL-EIVA First-Team member," Shweisky said. "Pat leads the EIVA in several statistical categories, and he has made a huge impact on both our team and the league. We are extremely happy he is a Tiger."

Dye, a 2012 First-Team selection and a member of the 2010 EIVA All-Tournament team, is among the league leaders in blocks and is hitting .310 for the season. His versatility has been crucial this season, as injuries have left him moving between the middle and the right side this season. His leadership on a team with four starting underclassmen has also been vital.

"Michael Dye means so much to our program as a senior captain and leader," Shweisky said. "Michael is the heart and soul behind so much of what this team has been able to accomplish. I can’t say enough about what he has meant to our program over the past four years."

Princeton will play its regular season and home finale Saturday at 4 pm against George Mason, and then will head to Penn State for the EIVA semifinals, which are scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm on April 25.
