Early-season home matchups against IPFW and Ball State, as well as a six-match homestand that includes both the Penn State and Harvard matches, are among the highlights of the 2014 Princeton men's volleyball schedule.

Princeton, which has made back-to-back EIVA postseason trips, will open the 2014 schedule during the final week of January with its annual California trip, which features matches against both Cal-Baptist and Concordia.

The Tigers return home the following weekend for home matches against both IPFW and Ball State; IPFW won 13 matches last season, while Ball State went 21-6 and finished third in the MIVA.

Those two matches will serve as Princeton's final tune-ups for the EIVA season, which opens Feb. 13 at Harvard. The Tigers will begin a six-match homestand Feb. 25 against Rutgers-Newark, but two dates that most Princeton fans will circle will be Friday, Feb. 28 (Penn State) and Saturday, March 8 (Harvard).

During Spring Break week, Princeton will make its first trip to North Carolina to play three matches, including a pair against Pfeiffer and Mount Olive, the top two teams in Conference Carolina last season.

Princeton's final home match of the regular season will be Sunday, March 23, against George Mason.

“We are very excited for the 2014 schedule," head coach Sam Shweisky said. "It is an honor to welcome MIVA powerhouse schools IPFW and Ball State to Dillon Gym and will be great preparation for the start of the EIVA schedule. We are also very excited to travel to the Carolinas for spring break and battle with some of the best teams in the Conference Carolinas.”

Princeton returns six starters from last season's 13-win team, including first-team All-EIVA honorees Pat Schwagler and Cody Kessel. The Tigers defeated two nationally ranked teams last season, including a 3-1 home win over Harvard, and drew more than 900 fans at Dillon Gym for a tense 3-1 loss against Penn State (pictured).
