Princeton To Host Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Men's Tennis Championships
Princeton University will host the 2007 Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Men's Tennis Championships at Jadwin Gymnasium Oct. 18-23, and GoPrincetonTigers.com is your source for updated draws and results throughout the tournament.
Action begins Thurs., Oct. 18, at 9 a.m. with the first round of singles qualifying. Main draw singles and doubles action begins on Fri., Oct. 19 and continues throughout the weekend, with the singles semifinals and championship match and doubles final taking place on Tues., Oct. 23.
Both main draw singles finalists, as well as the championship doubles team, will qualify for the 2007 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, to be held Nov. 1-4 in Columbus, Ohio. The Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional is one of nine men's ITA regionals taking this place this week and next week throughout the nation.
Six Princeton players are in the 128-player main draw singles event, including three seeded players—No. 2 Peter Capkovic, No. 10 George Carpeni and No. 31 Alex Vuckovic. Three Tiger doubles team are in the 64-team main draw doubles, including the top-seeded team of Carpeni and junior Alex Krueger-Wyman and the No. 6 seeded team of Capkovic and Vuckovic.
