The Princeton tennis teams have embarked on their spring trips as the Ivy League season draws closer.

The 68th-ranked women's team is in Florida for a pair of matches, first Wednesday against No. 13 Miami (live stats) and then Thursday against Florida International, both at noon. Princeton (8-4) is included in the latest ITA singles rankings with No. 81 Alanna Wolff.

Miami (11-2) is on a seven-match winning streak and has ranked singles players in No. 48 Kelsey Laurente and No. 61 Stephanie Wagner and two ranked doubles teams with No. 14 Monica Albuquerque and Clementina Riobueno and No. 31 Laurente and Maria Bolivar.

Florida International (5-4) will face Albany Tuesday before taking on the Tigers Thursday. The Hurricanes have won all nine meetings with Princeton, most recently by a 6-1 final in 2012, and Florida International has taken both matches from Princeton, in 2007 and 2009, both by 4-3 finals and with the most recent match coming in the NCAA tournament.

The Tiger men know only their first opponent of the weekend at the University of San Diego and San Diego State's co-hosted tournament, as No. 56 Princeton (9-5) will take on No. 43 Drake (11-5) Thursday at 1 p.m. ET in the first of three matches on the weekend. Drake is represented in the individual ITA rankings by the 29th-ranked doubles team of Ravi Patel and Robin Goodman.

After the first match, Princeton will take on either No. 32 Memphis or San Diego State in a match Friday at a time to be determined. Princeton will close out the weekend Saturday against one of the four remaining teams in the bracket, either No. 40 Purdue, No. 61 San Diego, No. 73 Denver or No. 28 Harvard.

Princeton has never faced Drake, and among its possible Saturday opponents, the Tigers have only faced San Diego State. The Aztecs have won 10 of the 12 all-time matches in a series that began in 1978 and had its most recent installment in 2011, a 5-2 Aztecs win in San Diego. Among its possible Sunday opponents, Princeton is 3-1 all-time against Purdue, 3-8 all-time against San Diego, and 1-2 all-time against Denver. The Tigers have a long history with Ivy rival Harvard, of course, with the Crimson on a three-match winning streak in the series.

The matches are the final for either Princeton team before the Tigers open Ivy League play March 29 against Penn, with the women home and the men in Philadelphia.
