The five-time reigning Ivy League Princeton men's swimming team competed in a pair of relays and the 100 breast during Day 2 of the 2013 NCAA Championships, but it has its eyes on two big events during Saturday's concluding sessions.

Princeton opened Friday with the 200 medley relay and took 25th overall. The quartet of sophomore Michael Strand, freshman Byron Sanborn, freshman Teo D'Alessandro and sophomore Harrison Wagner went 1:28.13.

Sanborn came back in the 100 breast and finished 39th in 54.60. The result improved him by one spot over his seeding (40th), though Sanborn knows his biggest event is still to come.

The 800 free relay marked the NCAA Championships debut for both freshman Sandy Bole and sophomore Connor Maher. They joined D'Alessandro and Sanborn to finished in 6:29.89. There are still 24 relays that will compete during the night session, and it is highly improbable that the time will hold up for All-America honors.

All-America is the target for Saturday, starting with Sanborn in the 200 breast. He currently ranks 24th in the 200 breast in 1:55.58, and there are only three freshmen nationally who have faster times this season.

The final event of the prelim session will be the 400 free relay, where Princeton currently ranks 12th overall, though there are several powers behind the Tigers. Regardless of the final result, the all-underclassman relay will benefit greatly from the pressure-packed environment it will face in its final day of the season.
