The Princeton softball team lost to Seton Hall 4-3 and defeated Coppin State 6-3 Saturday in Baltimore, beginning the team's weekend at the UMBC-Coppin State co-hosted tournament.

The Tigers (4-3) will face Mount St. Mary's at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and UMBC at 1 p.m. Sunday to close the weekend.

Against Seton Hall (8-6), Princeton pulled ahead 2-0 on a two-run double by Alyssa Schmidt in the first and went ahead 3-0 on a Candy Button RBI-double, but Seton Hall drew even on a three-run home run by Alex Rabbetts in the bottom of the fifth. The Pirates added what became the winning run in the bottom of the sixth when Yasmin Harrell, who was 3 for 3, picked up Jackie DiPetro with a single.

Shanna Christian took the loss for Princeton, striking out six and giving up the four runs on eight hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Liza Kuhn closed it out for Princeton, giving up one hit in her two-thirds of an inning of work.

Danielle DeStaso went the distance for Seton Hall, giving up just four Princeton hits and walking three, striking out six.

Against Coppin State (5-3), Princeton pounded out 12 hits led by a 3-for-4 game from Sarah McGowan. Princeton was up 5-2 after three innings, with Schmidt and Tory Roberts getting RBIs in over the first two frames before Kayla Bose hit a 3-run home run in the third. Candy Button's sacrifice fly in the sixth accounted for the final Princeton run.

Alex Peyton pitched the full seven for Princeton, getting the win on three hits, a walk and only one earned run. Alyssa Barker took the loss for Coppin State.
