WXC Earn 7th and 2nd-Place Finishes in Two Races at Princeton Invitational

Women's Championship Race

Women's Open Race

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/19/13) - The Princeton women’s cross country competed in both the championship and open races at the Princeton Invitational. The Tigers finished seventh in the championship race and second in the open race, just minutes after the team’s top group finished 10th at PreNats in Terre Haute.

In the championship race, freshman Rachael Chacko and junior Lindsay Eysenbach led the way with top-15 finishes. Chacko was 13th at 22:10, while Eysenbach was two seconds and two places back. Freshman Ally Markovich also ran under 23 minutes as the Tigers No. 3 runner. Junior Jackie Nicholas and freshman Jessica Ackerman covered the course at 23 and 23:04 as the final two scorers.

A second group of Tigers tackled the open race and finished second as a team. Freshman Katie Hanss was the individual runner-up covering the course in 22:58. Senior Kristin Smoot was seventh at 23:20 and freshman Zoe Sims was 10th at 23:28. Sophomore Michael Tracy clocked a 24:57 and junior Kim Mackay a 25:03 as the final two scorers.
