Shon Aims for Top of Leaderboard in Texas

Just two days after moving on to the next stage of LPGA Q-school, Kelly Shon continued to play well, turning in a first-round 69 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational to stand tied for third place.

Shon is one of eight players who carded a 69 in Sunday's first round, and all eight stand two shots behind Dani Darquea of Miami (Fla.) and Jessica Peng of Mississippi State. Shon had four birdies and just one bogey in her first round.

Princeton stands 16th as a team in the 18-team field, which Miami (Fla.) leads at -12 by five shots over UCLA.
