The Tigers have had two weekends away from competition since opening the fall slate in mid-September on Long Island, but the fall schedule will take the Princeton men's golf team to Georgia this weekend.
For the second consecutive year, Princeton will head to the Brickyard Collegiate Golf Championship in Macon, Ga. The Tigers tied for 11th in the annually strong field, which this year will feature 14 teams including Augusta State, Boston College, Chattanooga, Florida State, Furman, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Louisville, Mercer, South Florida, Virginia Tech and the Tigers. Four of those teams, including Georgia Tech (4), Georgia (11), Florida State (13) and Virginia (RV), were in the Golf World/Nike Golf preseason top 25 or received votes.
The teams will play a single round each day Friday through Sunday with the first tee times at 8:30 a.m. each day. Princeton will begin Friday at 10 a.m. Live scoring can be found via Golfstat here.
Princeton will have four of its scoring five back from the 2012 Brickyard, with Bernie D'Amato '13 as the only exception. Rookie Alex Dombrowski led Princeton in its first tournament this season, the Doc Gimmler Invitational hosted by St. John's at Bethpage Red on Long Island.
The Brickyard tournament comes on the first of three consecutive weekends of competition to wrap the fall campaign for Princeton, which will head to the Temple Invitational next weekend and host the Ivy Match Play event at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. the following weekend.
