NEW HAVEN, Conn. (11/8/13) - After a back-and-forth affair, sophomore Jaimie McDonell scored the game-winning goal at 9:18 of the third and the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week Rose Alleva assisted on all three Princeton goals, as the Tigers earned a 3-2 win over Yale at Ingalls Rink on Friday, Nov. 8.

Princeton took short-lived leads twice before McDonell's goal but each time Yale responded within three minutes to even the game.

After a scoreless first period, senior Sally Butler put the Tigers on the board at 6:30 with help from defenders Ali Pankowski and Alleva. Seventeen seconds after scoring Princeton was called for a penalty and Yale capitalized with a power-play goal by Tara Tomimoto at 7:18.

Senior Olivia Mucha scored her third goal of the season with a wrist shot at 5:26 with senior Denna Laing and Alleva assisting. However, less than three minutes later Yip-Chuck answered for Yale.

McDonnell's first career game-winning goal couldn't be answered by the Bulldogs, as she connected with Laing on a pass from Alleva.

Yale called a timeout with one minute to play and pulled netminder Leonoff after making 29 saves, but Princeton kept the Bulldogs at bay, not allowing a shot on goal.

Sophomore Kimberly Newell earned her second win of the season stopping 34 shots.

The Tigers improve to 3-2 and 2-1 in the ECAC and take on Brown tomorrow at 4 p.m., at Meehan Auditorium.
