PRINCETON, N.J. (10/18/13) - The Princeton men's hockey team skated to a 6-3 win over Ryerson in the first exhibition of the season at Hobey Baker Rink on Friday, Oct. 18.
Senior Andrew Calof had a four-point game with one goal and three helpers. Junior Tucker Brockett scored twice and had one assist and senior Jack Berger had a goal an assist, as the top line combined for four goals and five assists. Senior Eric Carlson and sophomore Jonathan Liau had two assists apiece.
The Tigers took a 4-0 lead in the first 25 minutes with Brockett scoring back-to-back goals within 2:01.
In the second period, Ryerson added two goals within three minutes to make it a 4-2 game midway through the period. Berger squashed the Ryerson run with a power-play goal less than a minute later.
The teams ended the scoring by trading goals in the third period.
There were six 10-minute misconducts in the game, with Ryerson taking five.The Tigers went 2 for 12 on the power play while the Rams were 1 for 5.
Princeton had a 37-17 advantage in shots on goal. Senior Sean Bonar had 14 saves for the Tigers, including nine in the third period. Troy Passingham made 18 saves in the first 30 minutes before for the Rams before Steve Gleeson replaced him for the final 30 and made 13 saves.
Princeton and Ryerson will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
