The 12th-ranked Princeton women's water polo suffered a pair of defeats to conclude the Aztec Invite Sunday. For the first time this year the Tigers lost consecutive games, falling 12-3 to No. 8 Hawaii and 10-7 to host-No. 7 San Diego State.

Princeton (14-4, 2-0 Southern) closes out its 13-game road swing with four contests at the LMU Invite in Los Angeles from Mar. 16-17.

Hawaii's offense proved to be too much for the Tigers, taking a 5-2 lead by halftime. A scoreless Princeton third quarter allowed the Rainbow Wahine to rattle off four uncontested goals and close out the match riding a 7-1 rally.

Taylor Dunstan, Katie Rigler and Brittany Zwirner each had the Tigers' goals. Defensively, Ashleigh Johnson made 10 saves and two steals.

No. 12 Princeton: 1 - 1 - 0 - 1 - 3
No. 8 Hawaii: 3 - 2 - 4 - 3 - 12

Goals: Dunstan 1, Rigler 1, Zwirner 1
Assists: Hooks 1, Gyorffy 1
Steals: Hatcher 2, Dunstan 2, Johnson 2

San Diego State capitalized on a two-goal lead after the first quarter, 4-2, to jut past Princeton 10-7.

A two-goal run in the first quarter put the Tigers up 2-1 at 4:50, but the Aztecs countered with three consecutive goals inside the second. It would be the only lead Princeton would hold in the game.

Princeton came as close as two goals at three different points over the remainder of the game, but it was not enough to overcome its early deficit.

Zwirner led the offense with three goals. Kelly Gross dished two assists and had a steal, while Johnson notched eight saves and two steals.

No. 12 Princeton: 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 7
No. 7 San Diego State: 4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 10
