2008: Named First-Team All-Ivy ... started all 17 games at center back ... helped to hold opponents to a 1.19 goals against average ... earned the Robert Myslik Award at the team's annual awards banquet.

2007: Started in 16 games ... had five shots, three of which were on goal ... named All-Ivy Honorable Mention.

2006: Played in 16 games, starting 10 in the midfield ... had two shots ... missed all of previous spring season due to illness.

Earned second-team All-Ivy honors as a freshman at Princeton ... began the year as a midfield reserve but quickly became a starter, starting 13 of Princeton’s final 16 games ... named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week Oct. 31 after his goal helped Princeton defeat Cornell ... started every Ivy League game for the Tigers.

Before Princeton: Played club soccer for PSC Coppa, where he won seven state cups ... was a teammate of fellow Princeton junior Pat Farrell on that team ... named both the 2004 Princeton Packet and Times of Trenton Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year while playing at The Hun School, just a mile down Route 206 from the Princeton campus ... a four-time all-state selection and a first-team all-MAPL pick for three years ... named the recipient of the team’s Rob Myslik Award in 2004.

Personal: Full name is Matthew Charles Care ... born Jan. 6, 1987 ... parents are John and Allison Care ... has two sisters, Amanda, who plays field hockey at Northwestern and will graduate in 2008, and Danielle.
