BACK TO SPORTS MEDICINE HOME

CHAIN OF COMMAND (In Attendance)

1) Chain of command during severe or catastrophic injury will be as follows:

a) Team Physician (if present)
b) Certified Athletic Trainer
c) Coaching Staff

2) If Team Physician or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) are ON SITE at time of injury, he/she will take command.

3) If Team Physician or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) are NOT ON SITE, then the next person on the Chain of Command is in charge.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL

For all intercollegiate events a Certified Athletic Trainer will be on site or in Caldwell Athletic Training Room. For all scheduled practices an ATC will be located in Caldwell Athletic Training Room.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION

Certified Athletic Trainer will use cellular phone to access EMS/public safety. In the event a Certified Athletic Trainer is not in attendance, contact Caldwell Athletic Training Staff AND EMS/public safety using nearest phone (refer to Emergency Phones) to coordinate any emergency needs. Send designated person to meet ambulance at entrance.

EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT ON SITE

Practices & Intercollegiate Events: Coaches will have first aid supplies. Ice machine is present in both men's and women's locker rooms. Emergency equipment is located in Caldwell Athletic Training Room.

LOCATION OF AED

An AED will be available through public safety or athletic training staff during all scheduled practices/events.

ACCESS TO VENUE

DIRECTIONS: Boathouse is located at corner of Faculty Road and Washington Road.

TANKS: Take wide pathway to the right of the boathouse half way down and stop. Tanks are located to the right of the arch way.

ERG ROOM & WEIGHT ROOM: Take wide pathway to the right of the boathouse and go through the arch way and take the stairs up to second floor. Or, enter the boathouse from the front, take the elevator to the 2nd floor, exit right and follow hall way in to open room and proceed to the right and entrance is there for erg room.

LOCKER ROOMS: Enter the boathouse from the near parking lot, go up the stairs to the 2nd floor; go right and follow the hall way about half way and locker rooms are located on the Left. Another entrance is through the front, take the elevator, which is to the right of the stairs; take a right out of the elevator down the hall about half way and locker rooms are on the right. NOTE: elevator is narrow - the back of stretcher has to be upright.

LOCATION OF LIGHTNING SHELTER

All athletes and coaches must get out of the water and use the Boathouse for shelter.

LOCATION OF EMERGENCY PHONES

Campus Phones:
Coaches will carry cellphones while in the boat launches
The Sikes Room
Ergometer Room
Tanks
Boat Bays
Coaches Offices
Blue Light Emergency Phone (Located in front of the boathouse to the right as you enter from the parking lot)
