Bob Prier has resigned as the head coach of Princeton men's hockey team, Ford Family Director of Athletics Gary D. Walters announced.

"On behalf of the Princeton men's hockey team, I'd like to extend our best wishes to Bob Prier in the next chapter of his career," Walters said. "He had a great love for the Princeton hockey program."

Prier was the head coach at Princeton for three seasons. Two Princeton players that he coached signed NHL contracts.

Before coming to Princeton, he spent nine years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, St. Lawrence University. He was also drafted by the Boston Bruins and then signed with the Ottawa Senators before suffering a career-ending injury
early in his minor league career.

A national search for his successor will be held.
