PRINCETON, N.J. (4/27/14) - The Princeton men's soccer team held its annual team banquet on Sunday, April 27 at the Woodrow Wilson School's Robertson Hall.

Head Coach Jim Barlow spoke to the team, staff and families about this year's senior class. The class had more than double the number of Ivy League wins than losses at 16-8-4 and no other Ivy League team had a winning record against Princeton during their four years.

The seniors of Chris Benedict, Dylan Bowman, Seth MacMillian, Billy McGuinness, Patrick O'Neil and Brady Valashinas were without classmate Andrew Menedez, who was ill. Each spoke about how their four years at Princeton and what being a member of the Princeton soccer family and its brotherhood meant to them.

Following the speeches, the three annual awards were presented.

The Dr. William Trevor Trophy was awarded to sophomore Josh Miller. The award is presented to the member of the Princeton men's soccer team who has shown the greatest improvement in the quality of play and attitude during the season. Miller was a first-team All-Ivy League selection and was also named Academic All-Ivy. He started in all 17 games at center back and helped hold teams to just 4.1 shots on goals per game. During his first year he played in six games.

The David S. Hackett Memorial Cup was awarded to MacMillan. A team-voted award, the Hackett Cup is awarded annually to the member of the Princeton soccer team whose enthusiasm, discipline and leadership contributed most to the team and the sport of soccer at Princeton. MacMillan was the starting goalkeeper in 15 games this season and had a record of 6-8-1 with two shutouts. He had a season-best six saves in a 0-0 tie with Brown. He assembled a 1.64 goals against average and a .609 save percentage with 39 saves and 25 goals allowed.

The Robert Myslik Award was presented to Bowman. The Myslik Award is annually awarded to the member of the team who most demonstrates the passion for life, the fiery competitiveness, the unwavering honesty and the selfless generosity of Rob Myslik. A preseason injury put an early end to Bowman's career. Bowman played in 45 career games and made 12 starts with one goal and four assists.

Captains for the 2014 team were announced. The Tigers will be led by Myles McGinley '15, Josh Miller '16 and Andrew Mills '15.
