The final weekend of the Ivy League season is ahead for the Princeton men's tennis team, and the Tigers will honor seniors Augie Bloom and Dan Davies before Friday's 2 p.m. match versus Cornell before heading to Columbia Sunday at 1 p.m. for the finale.
The Lions will head to Penn and host Princeton looking for a sweep of the Ivy slate. Columbia is the Ivy's highest-ranked team at No. 19 in the nation by the ITA and will be Princeton's second-highest ranked opponent of the season after the team faced No. 11 Mississippi State in the Blue-Gray tournament in Montgomery, Ala. on Feb. 23.
Columbia will be Princeton's 13th ITA-ranked opponent of the spring season and fourth straight ranked foe. Over the last two spring seasons, Princeton has faced 25 ITA-ranked opponents after facing no more than 10 in any of the previous four years from 2009-12.
Columbia would clinch a share of the Ivy title with a win Friday at Penn or with a loss by both Dartmouth and Harvard over their final three matches. Two wins for the Lions this weekend, or two losses each from Harvard and Dartmouth over their final three matches, would wrap the outright league title. That trio of teams remain the only ones in contention for the league crown.
