Princeton will open its 2014 season Friday in Orlando as part of five games in the University of Central Florida's tournament. Here is a look at where the Tigers stand heading into the new campaign and at the teams Princeton will face as it begins the season.

Interview with Head Coach Lisa Sweeney | UCF Tournament Page

OFFENSE
• Princeton's most-used middle infielders return, but the team's corner infielders do not. Rachel Rendina, who started 28 games at second base last season, and Alyssa Schmidt, who started 27 at shortstop, are both juniors.

• The Tigers will be looking to replace corner infielders Nikki Chu (third base) and Alex Peyton (first base). Five players saw time at first base last season when Peyton was pitching.• Junior Rachel Rendina led the Tigers in hits last season, with 50.

• Princeton had 388 hits last season and 229 remain. The Tigers hit .296 as a team last year, but returning players hit .303 last season.

• Princeton out-homered its opposition 41-18 last season. Only 16 of those home runs return, however, as the players with the most (Alex Peyton, 11), second-most (Nikki Chu, 6) and third-most (Lizzy Pierce, 5) homers graduated.

• Princeton's top three hitters for average from last season return, including sophomore Kayla Bose (25-71, .352), Alyssa Schmidt (46-131, .351) and Rendina (50-143, .350)

• Princeton led the Ivy League last season with its .296 average.

OUTFIELD
• Nine players saw time in the outfield last season, none playing in more games than Lizzy Pierce and Candy Button, who graduated. Senior Tory Roberts returns as one of Princeton's three most-used outfielders and sophomore Danielle Allen played in 16 games in the outfield.

INFIELD
• Princeton's most-used middle infielders return, but the team's corner infielders do not. Rachel Rendina, who started 28 games at second base last season, and Alyssa Schmidt, who started 27 at shortstop, are both juniors.

• The Tigers will be looking to replace corner infielders Nikki Chu (third base) and Alex Peyton (first base). Five players saw time at first base last season when Peyton was pitching.

BATTERY
• Graduation took all but 113 1/3 of Princeton's 313 2/3 innings last season, between Alex Peyton (8-8, 2.09) and Liza Kuhn (6-6, 2.74). The Tigers return sophomore Shanna Christian (10-5, 3.00) and junior Meredith Brown (2-0, 3.06).

• Princeton's 2.59 ERA last season led the Ivy League.

• All four players who saw time behind the plate last season are back, led by senior Maddie Cousens and junior Cara Worden.
