PRINCETON, N.J. (2/19/14) - It's the final tune-up for the Princeton track & field teams as the Tigers host the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 23, the final meet before the Ivy League Heptagonals.
Participating teams include: Cheyney, Coppin State, Delaware, Holy Family, Moravian, NJIT, Neumann, Ramapo, Rowan, Rutgers-Camden, Stevens Institute, Towson, TCNJ
The non-scored meet begins at 11 a.m., with the women's weight throw and men's long jump. The men's 60-meter trials kicks off the track events at noon.
At last year's meet ...
Senior Tory Worthen won the pole vault, clearing 4.00 (13-1.5). Classmate Lauren Tauscher finished third. Freshman Sara Ronde was the runner-up in the long jump as she found 5.58 (18-3.75) on her final attempt. In the mile, freshman Sarah Porter earned the victory with a time of 5:06.97. Junior Kacie O'Neil clocked a 2:15.82 to earn runner-up status in the 800. In the high jump, freshmen Taylor Morgan and Inka Busack both cleared 1.60 (5-3) to tie for third.
The men won three events. Senior Nathan Mathabane won the 800 at 1:54.58, senior Sebastian Steffen took the win in in the 200 clocking a 22.62 and junior Tom Scott ran 1:06.59 to win the 500. Assistant coach and Princeton alum Justin Frick '10 won the high jump, clearing 2.23 (7-3.75). Junior Omar Jarrett was third with a mark of 2.00 (6-6.75).
