Hoffenberg and Nelson Earn ACWPC All-America Honors
ACWPC All-America Release
Princeton men’s water polo veterans Thomas Nelson and Drew Hofenberg earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Honorable Mention honors, it was announced Thursday.
"I am very happy for Drew and Thomas to earn All-America honors," said head coach Luis Nicolao. "They both worked very hard this year and this is a great accomplishment."
Junior Hoffenberg becomes a three-time All-America selection following his team-leading 66-goal and 32-assist season. Over 28 games the attacker also amassed 40 steals, third-best, 45 ejections drawn and five blocks.
Hoffenberg adds another honor to his season accolades, following his Southern Division First Team and CWPA Championship All-Tournament Second Team selections.
Returning to action after missing the 2012 season, sophomore Nelson earned his second All-America accolade. He led the Tigers in steals (47) and blocks (10) and added 53 goals, 19 saves and 14 ejections drawn.
Along with his national recognition, Nelson was named to the CWPA Championship All-Tournament First Team this past fall.
